Sports Emphasize Basic Skills: A wide variety of sports activities are provided in a low key atmosphere, free from pressure, with concern for both younger and older campers. Our sports program emphasizes the basic skills of running, throwing, catching and hitting. All sports activities for younger campers are designed with modifications for the age group. The sports include archery, baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, soccer, floor hockey, flag football, wiffleball, kickball, volleyball, dance and many more. We offer a low elements Challenge Course for campers entering 2nd grade and older.

Rainy Days Are No Problem: Indoor activities on inclement days provide a pleasant change of pace. An alternate, specific program is planned for those days inside the spacious 22,000 square foot Purchase Community House.

Swimming Progress is Important: Full day campers, using one or more of four pools, have two swim periods per day: an instructional swim and a free swim. A large and highly qualified staff of American Red Cross water safety instructors & life guards, as well as counselors keep daily records on each camper's progress. Appropriate certificates are awarded to campers who satisfactorily complete the objectives of each swim level. Swim progress cards, based on American Red Cross standards, are issued at season's end.

Broad Based Enrichment: With emphasis on fun and the camper's satisfaction with his/her own skills, Purchase Day Camp provides a wide variety of activities such as nature and science, woodworking, model craft, puppetry, music, dance, theatre, cooking, arts & crafts, rocketry, and camp crafts.

Computer Instruction: Computer instruction is offered to campers in kindergarten and older. Our lab with 12 computers highlights this hands-on program. Campers have the opportunity to use our digital cameras, scanners, color printers, and a wide array of software to complete a variety of project based activities.

Special Events Add Spice: Exciting special event days and visiting entertainers add spice to our camp program. Carnival Day and Theater Day are traditional special event afternoon camp festivities. A fun filled late night is offered to campers in grades four and up.
