Support the Commitment to Community
at the Purchase Community House!

November 1, 2007

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

We are writing to you on behalf of the Purchase Community House, the cornerstone of our community since its inception in 1917. The PCH continues to serve the families of Purchase in a multitude of ways. Its programs often touch every family member regardless of age, and provide countless opportunities for our children to develop new skills and just have fun while gaining confidence and independence. Its importance in our community cannot be overstated.

To that end, each year we undertake a Capital Fund Drive. The money raised is needed to operate the house on a daily basis. In addition, our 90 year old structure is in need of continuous improvements and repairs. We as a community need to ensure the quality and safety of the house and rely on the generosity of your donations to do so. Frankly stated, the ability to operate the PCH and its many programs depends on the funding generated by our residents. We simply cannot afford to take this unique facility for granted.

The PCH has become a "second home" to many. The house is continuously used for programs which include after school classes, open gym time, the Friday Night Youth and Teen Night programs and new Activity Nights for grades 9 and 10. Let us also ensure that the Purchase Day Camp, our most valuable resource, will forever have a first class facility to call home.

The House accommodates other programs integral to our community which are based in our building. They include the Purchase Free Library, the Purchase Children's Center, Wolf Workout and The Institute of Dance. It is our obligation to maintain and improve the house's facilities knowing that these programs are dependent upon it and your generosity.

Your gift, in any amount, will help. On behalf of the children and families of the Purchase Community House, we thank you for making us a part of your charitable efforts. Your support will have a significant impact on our community for years to come.

Very truly yours,

Carla Lobel Carol Wolf
Board President Fundraising Chair
